About Tammy Ryan
Tammy Ryan's wide-ranging work has been commissioned, developed, and performed at regional theaters across the United States, including The Alliance Theatre, City Theatre, Florida Stage, Marin Theatre, People’s Light, Pittsburgh Public Theater, Portland Stage, Prime Stage, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Theatre Lab and others. Internationally, her work has been seen in Australia, Canada, India, Japan, and Turkey.
Honors include the Francesca Primus Prize for her play Lost Boy Found in Whole Foods; AATE's Distinguished New Play Award for The Music Lesson and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust's Creative Achievement Award. In 2024 Tammy was named the inaugural recipient of The Boost Commission Award from The Leah Ryan Fund.
Her work has been supported by the National New Play Network, New Harmony Project, Bogliasco Foundation, Hambidge Center, Virigina Center for the Creative Arts, Heinz Endowments and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. Her plays are available from Dramatists Play Service, Dramatic Publishing and Broadway Play Publishing and can be read on the National New Play Exchange.
Tammy is an alum of the Pittsburgh Public Theater's Playwrights Collective and a resident playwright of New Dramatists class of 2027.
